Meet the Maker
It was my Aunt Loretta who taught me to knit. I was just a little girl and the only thing I made was a kerchief for my mother. It was hideous but she wore it anyway. When I retired from librarianship and moved with my husband to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan I met a group of crafty ladies. I needed a portable hobby that allowed me to spend every Thursday in their company. My good friend, Scott, encouraged me to return to knitting. I found new joy working with good yarn and giving my creations to family, friends and area not-for-profit gift shops. When my family said, "Please, no more hats," I decided to start my own business. - Ann Alexander
Hand knitted items represent slow fashion; they should fit your body and be timeless. Please remember that handcrafted pieces take time to create.
My crafty lady-friends meet every Thursday at the Brevort Community Library in Moran, Michigan. They are modeling Novel Knits hats. Lizzy is a 14 year old Labradoodle.
